blogs I read

Rather than doing a conventional blogroll, I wanted to add a few comments on some favorite blogs – so they get a page to themselves. (These are not all I read: more will be coming eventually, I promise!)

Pagan blogs:

Dancing Down the Moon is Dianne Sylvan’s blog – chatty, thoughtful, and very real. I’ve known Sylvan online for a number of years, and am always fascinated by what she has to say.

It’s the Journey, not the Destination is Donald Engstrom-Reese’s blog. Donald’s one of my favorite community curmudgeons, and someone I’m always delighted to spend time with in person. (He’s married to one of my trad mates, so I get to do this a reasonable amount.)

MetaPagan brings together links from a number of different Pagan blogs – sometimes on various seasonal dates, sometimes on other topics.

The Wild Hunt is my first stop for Pagan related news. Jason Pitzl-Waters does a fantastic job of keeping on top of all sorts of Pagan news and events, and of providing thoughtful comments and discussion about them.

Non-Pagan:

Curious Expeditions: a blog about all sorts of fascinating things out there in the world – everything from whaling to ravens to pneumatic tube systems to crypts beneath cathedrals.

Making Light is my favorite general blog. Hosted by Patrick and Teresa Nielsen Hayden, it has posts on everything from publishing to emergency safety to odd news to recipes to deeper political and social commentary. The comment threads are lengthy, but well worth the time.

PostSecret is a blog which collects postcards with secrets from readers, and then publishes them (once a week, generally, usually on Sundays). They’re a reminder, whenever I read them, of all the different stories and needs and dreams out there in the world, many of which are rarely talked about with others.
